Read the latest version
The configuration at its newest version. Asking for a version by number is a different address, on purpose.

The configuration as it newest stands. Reading the latest and reading one version are separate addresses deliberately:
?version=2 on this route is refused, so a caller asking for a version is never handed whatever the newest happens to be — one version by number has its own route.
