# Remove a lookup key

> Take a key off the shelf. Nothing already sold changes.

The key names nothing from now on: it is not read and not listed. Nothing recorded changes — every Loan and decision names its own configuration and version, not a key. You may point the key again later, as if for the first time.

On a live Tenancy an agent cannot remove a key.

## Path parameters

  The key. One you do not hold, or already removed, is <Badge color="orange">404</Badge> `not_found`.
