# Read your request bounds

> The concurrency, patience, rate and burst your requests are held to, from the table the door enforces.

The four numbers your requests are held to, read from the same table the door enforces them from. What this answers is what the door applies.

| Bound | Default | What it is |
| - | - | - |
| `concurrent` | `16` | Requests in flight at once. |
| `patience_ms` | `2000` | How long a request beyond them waits for a slot. |
| `per_second` | `50` | Requests started per second. |
| `burst` | `100` | Requests started at once before the rate applies. |

**A request within these numbers is never refused for a bound.** The bounds are counted per process, so where the Platform runs more than one you may be admitted more. That excess is never promised: a refusal beyond the numbers is answered as any [bound refusal](/api-reference/errors).

**Size your parallelism from them.** Reads take no lock and may be sent in parallel. Writes for one Client wait for each other; see `contended` on [Errors](/api-reference/errors).

This read counts against the bounds it reports, at both doors.

## Path parameters

<ParamField path="tenant_id" type="string" required>
  The Tenancy asking.
</ParamField>

## Response

<ResponseField name="concurrent" type="integer" required>
  Requests in flight at once. A `concurrency_limited` refusal states it in `details.bound`.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="patience_ms" type="integer" required>
  How long a request beyond `concurrent` waits for a slot, in milliseconds.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="per_second" type="number" required>
  Requests started per second. A `rate_limited` refusal states it in `details.bound`.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="burst" type="integer" required>
  Requests started at once before the rate applies.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="source" type="string" required>
  `default` where you are held to the Platform's default; `tenant` where you have an entry of your own.
</ResponseField>

<RequestExample>
  ```bash Read theme={null}
  curl "https://api.capcells.com/v1/tenants/$TENANT_ID/bounds" \
    -H "Authorization: $(capcells_sign "$CAPCELLS_API_KEY" GET "/v1/tenants/$TENANT_ID/bounds")"
  ```
</RequestExample>

<ResponseExample>
  ```json 200 theme={null}
  {
    "concurrent": 16,
    "patience_ms": 2000,
    "per_second": 50,
    "burst": 100,
    "source": "default"
  }
  ```
